Wallpaper roll calculator for Shopify

In short: Trimsize lets wallpaper stores sell by the wall on Shopify. Customers enter the wall's width and height and choose the pattern repeat; Trimsize works out how many strips the wall needs and how many each roll gives once the repeat is matched, rounds up to whole rolls and prices them at your rate per roll, with paste and lining paper added, and Shopify charges exactly that at checkout.

What your customers get

  • Their wall, not a roll count: they enter the width and height they measured.
  • The pattern repeat as a choice, so a large pattern correctly needs more rolls than a plain paper.
  • Whole rolls, enough to finish the wall without a second order.
  • Paste and lining paper in the same price, the lining priced from the wall's area.

Priced the way you sell

Wallpaper is sold by the roll, so the maths is: strips across the wall, divided by the strips one roll gives at the wall's height plus the repeat, rounded up. In the starter, rolls are 53 cm wide and 10.05 m long. A wall 400 cm wide and 250 cm high needs 8 strips; a roll gives 4 of them, so 2 rolls of paper at $18.95 come to $37.90. With a 64 cm repeat a roll gives only 3 strips, so the same wall takes 3 rolls of vinyl at $29.95, and with paste and lining paper for its 10 m² the total is $113.35.

Change 53 and 1005 in the formula to your roll's width and length in centimetres, and set each repeat to the drop your papers use. Each roll size needs its own product, since the roll maths lives in the product's formula.

From order to the shelf

Each line says the wall size, the repeat, the paper and the extras, so the rolls you pick are the rolls the customer paid for. On Pro, the production queue lists open orders with their sizes, and quotes as draft orders cover whole-house jobs priced the same way.

Questions

Can customers enter several walls?

Each wall is its own cart line: customers add the product once per wall, with that wall's size, and each line is rounded to whole rolls.

Does it work with American double rolls?

Yes. Set the size unit to inches, then put your roll's width and length in inches in the formula and your price per roll on each paper.

Can I add a waste allowance?

Yes. Add a strip or two in the formula, or raise the repeat values, to match the allowance you recommend in store.
