Pricing
Products
Every product with its pricing: find, filter and price many at once.
Products lists every product in your store with its Trimsize pricing. Click a product to open its pricing editor, or select several to price them together.
The first time
When you first open Products, Trimsize reads your products from Shopify. Until it finishes, the page says Syncing products…: search and paging work at once, and tabs, filters, sorting and Export appear when it's done. After that, Shopify tells Trimsize when a product changes, and the list catches up each time you open it.
What each row shows
- Product: the image, title, vendor and product type.
- Pricing: Configured when the product has Trimsize pricing, or Not set up. After you leave Pro, a product past the free plan's 5 shows Paused or Pricing removed (see If you leave Pro).
- Template: the template it follows, or Own pricing when it's priced on its own.
- Last configured: when its pricing was last saved.
- Status: Active, Draft or Archived in Shopify, with a Needs attention badge when the product needs a look (see below).
Products show 50 a page.
Tabs
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| All | Every product in your store. |
| Configured | Products with Trimsize pricing. |
| Not set up | Products without it. They sell at their Shopify price. |
| Needs attention | Products with pricing that are draft or archived, or that Trimsize couldn't update when you last saved their template (see template status) or ran a bulk action on them. |
Each of these tabs shows its count. The views you save show as tabs after them.
Search, filters and sort
Click the search icon to search by title, handle, vendor, product type, tag or SKU. Below the search, add filters for Pricing, Template, Status, Vendor, Product type, Tag, Shopify price and Stock (a minimum, a maximum or both), or Out of stock to show only products with no stock left. Pricing can also show the products that are Paused or unpriced on the free plan. Clear all removes the filters, and Cancel goes back to the tab.
Sort by Product title, Last configured (the default, newest first), Updated in Shopify, Created, Template, Shopify price or Stock. The view is in the page's address, so reloading or going back keeps it.
Shopify price is the product's own price in Shopify (its lowest variant price), not the Trimsize price shoppers pay. Stock is the total across its variants; products that don't track inventory are left out of the stock filters and sort last. Trimsize reads stock from Shopify when you filter or sort by it, or open a template's Products tab, at most once an hour, so it can be up to an hour old.
Saved views
After you search or filter, click Save as view and name it. The view becomes a tab, with its own ⋯ menu to Rename or Delete it. The + beside the tabs starts a new view. A shop can save up to 20 views; Needs attention can't be saved as one. Deleting a view doesn't change any product.
A product's menu
The ⋯ at the end of a row has Edit pricing, Change template, Remove pricing, View in store (active products only) and Open in Shopify admin.
Price several products at once
Tick products, or tick the box at the top to select the page; Select all … matching then selects every product in the current view. Then choose:
- Apply template: puts a template on them. With nothing ticked, the Apply template button at the top lets you choose the template, then the products in Shopify's product picker.
- Copy pricing from…: gives them another product's pricing. If that product follows a template, they follow it too.
- Remove pricing: they sell at their Shopify price again.
To take products off a template but keep their pricing, use Remove from template on the template's Products tab.
If some products already have pricing, Trimsize lists them and asks Replace their pricing? first. Progress shows below the list, and you can leave the page while it runs. One action runs at a time, on up to 5,000 products. If an action stops before it finishes, the page says how many products were done: run it again for the rest. When it shows Show Needs attention, that lists the products it was working on.
On the free plan you can price up to 5 products, and the bulk bar says how many more you can price. Products that already have pricing don't count.
Export
Export downloads the current view (tab, search, filters and sort) as a CSV file: product, handle, vendor, pricing, template, last configured and status, for up to 10,000 products.
Resync products
If a product you added or changed in Shopify is missing or shows old details, choose Resync products from More actions. Trimsize reads all your products from Shopify again; the list keeps working meanwhile.
